Lego Torture ... in Wired
Edited on Sun May-03-09 11:42 PM by guyton
I'm not sure why this bothers me so much. Perhaps it's realizing that the blood on our hands isn't going away anytime soon and that my kids will be burdened with this horrible legacy. Or maybe it's just the last bastion of innocence being breached by the evil of W.

Flickr user Legofesto (who prefers to remain anonymous) was fed up with news outlets refusing to publish images depicting torture due to their graphic nature. So he recreated the images and first-hand accounts using Legos to protest what he saw as irresponsible censorship.

The use of children's toys is at once sanitizing and horrifying and many of the images have received thousands of views

3. The story behind it is actually fairly complex
Edited on Sun May-03-09 11:57 PM by Orrex
When I first heard about it year ago, I was simply appalled. But when I learned more about the artist's goal, I was still disturbed, but I had a better sense of what he was trying to accomplish.

Still, it's pretty weird to see an "innocent" children's toy used in the creation of this kind of art.

4. It's all the move powerful because it's a children's toy, I think.
Like, wow...
