Ed Schultz Show to take on Sen. Baucus tonight & his donor list! Watch it at 6 pm est tonight!
Edited on Thu May-07-09 01:46 PM by 1776Forever
I posted opensecrets.org Campaign Donor report on Sen. Baucus the other day on DU and then sent it to Ed Schultz. He is taking on Sen. Baucus about this issue tonight on his show on MSNBC! Ed is going to ask Baucus why the single-payer representative wasn't allowed at the Health Care Hearing yesterday!

Here is the post I made on this subject yesterday:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5602825&mesg_id=5602825

Please watch Ed on MSNBC tonight or go to his website Monday for the update of the actual show on his site:

1. MSNBC is now rerunning The Ed Show!
It runs at 3:00 AM ET. Not at all convenient but better than no reruns.

5. Happily surprised.
The Ed Show is way better than I had anticipated. Shultz is now set to record via TIVO. He asks hard questions, gets to the point. Can't wait to see him "handle" Baucus tonight.

12. You are so lucky - Evidently you haven't seen one of your loved ones dying from no health care.
Have fun - and lets hope you never have too go through that kind of pain. This is heavy stuff for some of us. I think we should all do what we can, but like I said I really am glad you don't have that memory etched in your mind.

13. Yeah, I understand this doesn't effect all people, but it's VERY important to me.
My letters to Congress all note that I care for my disabled mother, and therefore do not have a job or health insurance. I also happen to have a preexisting condition that I ignored for two years due to financial issues. I obviously get denied by the insurance companies because of this condition. They point me to the major liability insurance, which is $500/mo., but that's impossible with because I live on my mom's salary. I applied for government aid, but they said I'm not actually sick enough. So, yeah, I get that single payer isn't that important for some people, but their involvement could benefit their fellow citizens.

14. How does watching a TV show change anything?
Maybe I'm a little uninformed about how the process of bringing about change works

15. It gives you information and arguments to use
in letters to the editor, calls to your congresscritter, and debates with wingnuts.

16. Is TV the best source for that?
Call me old-fashioned but I prefer things like the written word.

Besides, I'm too cheap to pay for a cable package that includes MSNBC

18. Probably one more thing to keep up to date with - Not the best or worse but -
I went to the Direct TV weather channel feature while watching Ed's Show during a commercial break and it has this feature that tells you which shows are being watched the most on that time slot. Don't ask me how they do it but it seems to be pretty accurate. Well the most watched show during the Ed Show was Fox News channel and I have done this when Rachel Maddow's Show was on too and again it is Fox News Channel. Now it makes one wonder why are so many people watching Fox? Is it because a fairly good percent of progressives are down on their luck now and they can't afford cable, or is it just that they are watching TV sitcoms more? I think it is about equal when it comes to that issue. What I think we can do is support a TV show like Ed's when we can. After all who is out there in the MSM for the middle-class accept Ed, Rachel, and Keith? I try to support those who are in my best interests and right now I along with millions don't have much else to hang on to.

:hi:

26. There's nothing like seeing the arguments in action.
The triumph, the look of desperation as we dismantle their talking points... it's delicious.

Reading is great, no question. For those less inclined to read relevant material, Ed's show is a good source for distributing counterarguments into the general population.

17. I did end up watching Big Ed -
Have I told you today how much I love this guy?

His show should be called Hardball - Ed is not afraid to back down - on healthcare and the bank bailouts.
