******U.S. May Add Shots for Swine Flu to Fall Regimen*****
The Obama administration is considering an unprecedented fall vaccination campaign that could entail giving Americans three flu shots — one to combat annual seasonal influenza and two targeted at the new swine flu virus spreading across the globe.

If enacted, the multibillion-dollar effort would represent the first time that top federal health officials have asked Americans to get more than one flu vaccine in a year, raising serious challenges concerning production, distribution and the ability to track potentially severe side effects.

Did you get the swine flu shot back when I was young?

I did not. And I will not now. Thanks for your interest though.

2. My father recently reminded me that my mom took the swine flu shot back in 1976,

we believe. I was at college all day every day, but home at night. Dad reminded me how sick she got from that vax, and she wasn't a wuss when it came to vaxes and medical care. She still had two younger kids in school. It was hard to put her down on bedrest. But she was really sick from it.

I hope this new vax doesn't do people the same way. If it has alot of side effects that make people ill for a couple of days, I doubt that very many people will take it. Employers won't be happy either.

On edit: Nancy Snyderman (Schneiderman? Sniderman?) said that one would be the initial vax, and then a booster would follow 60 days later.

4. Thanks, I'd rather use natural defenses, too, as much as possible.
I know it doesn't work for everything, but I hate bringing out the big guns when we really don't know the mortality for this flu.

antibiotics and an inhaler. After doing research on the net, it turns out that antibiotics
are ineffective against viruses, but the doctors prescribe them anyway $$$$.

The inhaler gave me heart attack symptoms. I felt like I was going to die. So, I went

to the doctor again & he gave me a check up and told me I was going to be fine. It was
only secondary effects from the inhaler he gave me. I paid for the doctor's visit, more money for
nothing.

The next time I felt the bronchitis symptoms coming on, I started taking Grapefruit Seed Extract.

It worked, whenever I feel that itch in the back of my throat or that strange feeling in my chest, I
know I'm about to come down with something. But, with all the things that I take now, I've never felt better.

8. Guillain-Barré pretty much put an end to the vaccination program.
I know that's why I didn't get one. I'm guessing the same thing could happen again this time.

There were reports of Guillain-Barré syndrome, a paralyzing neuromuscular disorder, affecting some people who had received swine flu immunizations...As a result, Di Justo writes that "the public refused to trust a government-operated health program that killed old people and crippled young people." In total, less than 33% of the population had been immunized by the end of 1976. The National Influenza Immunization Program was effectively halted on Dec. 16. -Wiki

5. Pass

Edit: Maybe I'm outside the norm but I've had flu...real, honest, full blown flu, one time as an adult. I'll roll the dice on getting the flu once every 15 to 20 year and avoid a bunch of extra shots.
