10. I happened to see a sign on the door at my local post office a few weeks ago.
Not exactly a public relations campaign.

Don't let that ruin your rant, though.

14. here they've gotten creative. they reassessed all the property around her up
about double what it was before. that way they can raise the taxes without actually raising the taxes. they are doing it all over in wny... i am sure they are doing this elsewhere as well.

I still love the post office, though. They do a good job.

Imagine what Fed-Ex or UPS would charge for this:

13. it seems every time i buy stamps the price goes up again. it's ridiculous!
if i buy stamps, they should still be good! i shouldn't have to buy 1cent stamps or 2 cent stamps! i just got rid of my 41cent stamps and was putting two stamps on things because i didn't even know for sure how much it was for a stamp. i am so tired of them continually raising the damned prices of stamps. they should only be allowed to do it once a year or something. grrr. and they don't give you those forever stamps unless you explicitly ask for them. can you even get those anymore?

box anywhere, or slot, or even FROM YOUR MAILBOX at the end of your 1/4 mile drive in Frozen Sneakers Nebraska. And a real person takes it and sorts it and delivers it......ANYWHERE in America. Even if it's going to a concrete jungle
in Erie, PA or to some mountain retreat in Colorado, or even to the cute next door neighbor you're too chicken to call. For $.42 cents!!! An amount so small they don't even bother putting a symbol for it on my keyboard!
I'm not fretting the .02 cent raise.

20. I agree. It's one of the few bargains that still exist. And after having lived in a developing
country with a "postal system" (emphasis on the quotation marks) it has made me appreciate the accuracy and speed and breadth of the USPO even more.

Can't ever understand why people get mad about the small increases. It's a true bargain!

I said so in my second post on this thread.

I'm just used to getting more foreknowledge of the increase.

23. They should have raised the price to 50 cents..ages ago
Edited on Fri May-08-09 05:21 PM by SoCalDem
they've done this penny-here-penny-there routine for so long, they never get ahead of the game..The way they raise it, they just piss people off because of all the "supplemental" stamps they have to keep buying..

It's like pricing milk by the mouthful, instead of by the carton.. Many times you'll dump milk that spoils, but you don't have to keep running to the store every day for a fresh dribble of milk either..
