if we did have some major catastrophe, such as a pandemic, where they had to pay out on millions of people.
Like Wall Street and the banks, they want to privatize the profits and have the tax payers shoulder the risk.
The argument for national single payer health care is so logical and compelling that obviously having someone actually represent them at the table would show the vested interest groups up for the monsters they are. In the name of the almighty dollar, these companies are willing to let millions suffer and over 100,000 needlessly die a year.
Tell me they aren't monsters and that those who take their money and are slaves to their every wish shouldn't be thrown in jail, or at least out of office!
I have a friend who just had cancer discovered in his lungs and kidney. He did not go to the doctor earlier because he and his wife did not have health care. She finally got a job and lasted long enough to get health care (terrible job and terrible working conditions) and my friend was finally able to see a doctor. He received the diagnosis on Friday.
I can not begin to tell you how angry I am and how little patience I have for people who offer such arguments as soooo many people like their current set up--yes, people with jobs and those people are becoming fewer and fewer. And, what about the millions that are not insured or under insured; and don't give me the line about the government subsidizing the cost of insurance for those people which is actually a subsidy to the insurance companies--and we have all seen how well that goes with the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. Insurance companies will still be denying as much coverage and squeezing the doctors and hospitals become they MUST make profits--whatever else they claim in lofty mission statements, companies are in business to make money. God bless them! I don't typically begrudge them that, but I do if they have manipulated the system with their "legal" bribes and if they silence those who offer alternatives that are more effective, efficient, and less expensive.
Why we are not talking to the streets in millions over this issue and the bail out of Wall Street and the banks, I'll never know. I think that health insurance companies, Wall Street and banks just got lucky when Obama got elected because most people trust him. However, that trust is going to evaporate if things don't change.
How much money has Obama accepted from those with vested interest in the "health care" industry?
He was for single payer before running for the senate.
What is the cost of a man's (or woman's) soul?
