I also think Gregory is much better on MEET THE PRESS than Russert, RIP, ever was--at least now we're getting an opportunity to "Meet" some of the "Press" on the show, instead of watching the "Watch Tim Russert Kiss GOP Ass" show.

Like Russert, Gregory dutifully presents "The World According to GE" each week, with regular commercial spots for various weapons, chemical, and pharmaceutical conglomerates.

The questions were difficult, but he didn't get pissy (like Russert would have) when the Pakistani Prez slapped the shit out of him. He's now interviewing Karzai, and he's LETTING HIM ANSWER. Gregory doesn't step on answers. He lets people finish. He has a conversation with them, not an interrogation. In the end, if the guest has a point to make, the guest makes the point.

It's a huge difference, GE notwithstanding. You are going to get what you are going to get from them--you don't expect ice cream to come out of an asshole, now, do you? It's their network, and it's their program--they pay to get it up on the air.

If you're determined to dislike him, though, vote with your remote. No one's got you strapped to a chair with your eyes sewn open.

I like him--this week's show was particularly instructive, and Russert could not have pulled it off without continuous interruptions and refusals to let the guests finish their thoughts.

He used to be a thorn in W's side. Then, all of a sudden they're best friends
and Gregory kow towed to the entire administration--like a pathetic lemming.

Why did Gregory go from a journalist to a lily-livered slappy McYes Man?
