health care public option: when they say "we haven't heard from enough people in favor of it"
don't they really mean:

"WE'RE NOT LISTENING TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN FAVOR OF IT!" ?

It sounds to me like they're sitting their with their fingers in their ears saying: "We can't hear youuuuuuuu!"

Bullshit.

They aren't LISTENING. They've heard from plenty of us and NEED to hear from plenty MORE. BUT....we have to somehow be IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE or to shut out.

1. We have to keep it up! I sent Baucus a note.
My niece has been given a death sentence because she doesn't have health care.

4. Exactly. They haven't heard from any deep-pockets in favor
of single payer health care. Those of us who aren't wealthy and don't employ lobbyists don't count. x(

5. Ah, but activists aren't "people." Only lobbyists
and corporations are "people" to our dear politicians. :(

The rest of us are nuisances at best and criminals at worst as far as they are concerned. But we certainly aren't people they should be listening to.

7. You are so right. I send email to the White House two to three times
a week about it. Each one is different about a different aspect of it. There is no spam from me. I know others, many others do as well, so don't say that enough people aren't in favor of it.

9. I've sent them a couple nastygrams and also to Baucus.
Doubt they'll "listen" since they have their ears and eyes shuttered but I did it anyway. Bastards.

8. Will people lose their jobs if they post contrary to slime capitalism? We need enlightened capital.

Will people lose their jobs if they post contrary to slime
capitalism?

We need enlightened capital to acknowledge and uphold the
economy we need to prosper.

IF you own companies or just a small business try to practice
using social media.
It will bring us together faster.

Or even if you are non-profit, bear the expense, raise the
funds, get grants once we get going.

Events that create action, create energy give the kids, who
are iching to move on something
ethical, logical, and passionate, to rise up and to manage the
knowledge gathering and channeling
of the stuff needed to be recreated and pushed on through to
the other side.

We can do it. We can do it. The information is in place in
files in basements of dusty buildings.

sadly, this is getting few posts.
ya know, I really think people are blind
to their own obvious routes to success,
because they don't want to offend the perpetrators,
who are wealthy and run it all and decide everything
when individuals don't respect themselves enough to
insist on the rule of law.

11. That statement reminds me
of a video clip posted by DUer prolesunited in early '03, as we were marching to war.

It showed massive demonstrations to the tune, iirc, of "power to the people," and ended with the question:

"Are you listening now?"

Of course, we know that GWB didn't care what the people around the globe thought about his war agenda.

I don't think Baucus can "hear" anyone who doesn't agree with him. He obviously has no intention of listening.

13. Anyone who possibly can needs to go to DC or get out there in our own communities.
I'm fast becoming a single issue voter on this one.

They may not end up needing more police, they DAMN WELL ARE going to need new jobs, 'cause I don't give an f- what party they belong to at this point. Gotta be careful not to get suckered by double- and triple- agents during this whole process leading up to 2010, but I AM as close to not voting for anyone who doesn't support Single Payer as I've ever been before on a single issue.
