Not a flattering question in these serious times. wonder if they are trying to imply that Obama is a buffoon. Wonder if they asked this when Bush was in office. A better question would be "Do you like your president to have a sense of humor?"

Although the "doh" response would make such a question rather pointless (as in, "No, I'd prefer he be a humorless droid.")

Bottom line, it takes some brains to deliver zingers with aplomb and make people laugh at them. And -- believe it or not -- it was one of the rhetorical devices that Bush was least incompetent with. One doubts whether Bush ever wrote a zinger himself (while the presumption is that Obama writes much of his own material), but Bush wasn't entirely hopeless in delivery, unlike when attempting to articulate serious or aspirational topics.

There's already BEEN a president who tried and succeeded as a "Jokester-in-Chief" Though not as he intended.


If you say yes to this question, it demeans the President as being a clown looking for cheap laughs.

If you say no, it means he's a humorless party pooper, perhaps even the dreaded "nerd".
