The more I think about the corporatist suggestion to "save $2 Trillion" by cutting health care costs (read: cutting benefits), the more outraged I become. Enough of this insanity. I think we've reached a critical mass where enough people see through this bullshit to make some changes.
From here on out, if you are taking from the public till to build up your fortune, you are filth. You are a swine. (That's just my take; pick your own epithets.) If you loot your shareholders and the capital of your corporation to build up your salaries and benefits, you are beneath contempt.
We've suffered too long under the myth of the "titans of industry" and the "invisible hand" that turns greed into good.
I think people are ready to hear another point of view. The message is simple and easy to articulate.
Clarity will help, though. I don't think Americans are ready to criticize capitalism outright (hence the GOP talking points phrasing the issue as capitalism/socialism). The fundamental problem to be articulated is that these animals rape everyone else -- taxpayers, employees, shareholders, etc. -- to concentrate undeserved wealth into their sweaty hands.
Let's take advantage of the current focus on these problems and let's change that image!
