This thread is about all the women who some how managed to be successful
at work and home without being exhibitionists or airheads. Women who knew and know that hard work is necessary and nothing is free. Women who took the time to learn about the world around them and to pass that knowledge on. Women who managed somehow to learn prosocial behavior and do not feel the need to disrespect others or engage in tantrums to accomplish.

You all know women like this. They are in your families and communities. Thank you, mom, all my grandmas, my teachers, friends, daughter and every other woman I know who learned to live with grace.

2. I'll kick and rec this one.
I'm so tired of hearing about sexism in movies (tired that it's still being done) and beauty pageants and things that basically treat women as though we have only once goal in life: to be screwed by some man and, when he's done and wants someone younger, we're left.

It's heartbreaking that this still happens.

5. Like my sister, who has combined a successful professional career
(part-time) with a successful marriage to a great guy, and successful parenting of two great young people.........plus some hobbies and good works to round it out. She has done very well, and never been an embarrassment to anyone (well, except for the time in high school when she skipped out on a piano lesson to go shopping with a friend and got in a car accident).
