Up-Date on Family Burned out by Fire

Things are much better for the Tate Family today ~~ they managed to get another home. The donations have come through and they pulled $10,000 together and with the help of a local mobile home realtor, they found an older mobile in the same park where they have lived. The owner of the mobile will take the $10,000 and carry the rest of the purchase price.

I know that my fellow DUers helped to make this down payment possible... and I want to thank you for the bottom of my heart. These people are thrilled to death with this small, older, but very nice mobile home. It has lovely cement rings filled with flowers in the yard and it is on a quiet cul-de-sac of the park. They can move in about 2 - 3 weeks. The home has a built-in stove, a washer and a dryer and a refrigerator and the dining room table will stay. They need furniture and I am going out tomorrow and hitting the streets to see what local merchants can help out with beds and living room furniture.

I went to the store this morning and got them some items for their kitchen and some dishes for their little doggie. My best gal pal and I are going to go shopping when they are ready to move and we are going to outfit the kitchen with dishes and cookware and a few small appliances.

My best guy pal gave them a VCR and when they move, he plans to get them a DVD player and a new TV for the living room.

Thank you for caring. These are wonderful folks who really have had some very bad breaks in life and they did not need what happened to them. I really did not do that much...just ground on local merchants until it was the preferred choice to donate to make me go away!
