I think it may have been a Humane Society commercial. Who's voice do I hear RIGHT UP FRONT? Pigboy's. That's going to be VERY hard to get used to. There's Randi saying "Forty-seven after", and immediately following that, Limpballs.

Take the good with the bad?

As an aside; I caught four today, ranging in size from 14" to 21". They're now vacuum packed and in the freezer.

8. I rub them inside and out with olive oil and lemon pepper...
then stuff the body cavity with lemon and butter. Wrap them tightly with aluminum foil and slap 'em on the grill.

Red potatoes and onions, diced and pouched in foil with a little Lowry's, also on the grill.

Wild brown rice, steamed, with steamed yellow squash and broccoli.

Who wants to come to dinner at 7,000 feet above sea level a hundred miles from L.A.? I still have a tiny patch of snow in my back yard.

3. I just downloaded Randi's yesterday show's pod cast since she's not on
local radio anymore. There are no commercials. I can get used to this.

4. I heard that yesterday... As much as I detesst Limbaugh...
if his voice can do anything to reduce cruelty to animals, I will gladly give him credit... The animals are more important than anything, after all. But, I agree it was extremely jarring.

6. Oh man, that's some bigun's
Where'd you catch those?

I think he's going to lose even more people with his whole "take the money to return it to its rightful owners... think reparations" bullshit. I might have to start listening so I can enjoy the implosion.

10. I caught them in the mountain paradise I live in, about a hundred miles from L.A.
It's called Big Bear Lake. I gave up good bucks and a job facilitating democracy in Orange County to move here. It's a struggle, I work part-time (I WON'T say where), but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Fishing on a Tuesday afternoon, and I'm one of about fifteen boats on the whole lake...

I was totally shocked when I heard his voice about two seconds after hearing Randi going to commercial.

11. I guess it's true what they say
"A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work."

And you had a GOOD day of fishing. Or half-day, anyway.

13. My Grandfather (may the Great Spirit Rest His Soul) first brought me here when I was about 6.
He taught me to fish. Fuck that, he taught me more things about more things than my Dad ever did. I turned 48 on the 2nd, and have been living here for the two years come July. I remember that there wasn't even a stop-light in town the first time I came here. We fished from the shore, sitting in lawn chairs. I knew then that this was the place I wanted to live. Circumstances and hard work have allowed me to make that dream come true. I'll spend the rest of my days here and am torn between having my ashes dumped here in the lake that my Grandpa first brought me to, or in the Pacific Ocean that I grew up next to and traveled as a Sailor.

My only regret (in that context) is that He's not here for me to take out into the middle of the lake so I could show him how I've put the things he taught me to good use.

Thanks, Pops. I miss ya.

12. Yeah well, FUCK the "gun nuts". I own guns, but I'm not NUTS about them.
My fiance (The Ms.) had never fired a gun in her life. Now, we go to the outdoor shooting range by the lake and she fancies herself to be a trap shooting superstar. A couple of weeks ago, she hit 21 out of 25, with a 12 guage. She's about 5'6" and weighs about 170 lbs. She was afraid of it at first... until she hit her first clay pidgeon. Now sometmes she comes home from K-Mart (the only department store here on the mountain) with a box of shells and a box of clays.

I HATE mush, and have asked here many times why we don't just ignore him. He might be advertising for the Humane Society, but that and ten thousand times more support for things I believe in won't give him a pass in my book.
