2. Do you mean "bully" the same way Teddy Roosevelt used it?
(regardless, I voted "Yes")

Would that we had a Prez with comparable stones.

3. I'd say that's a succinct statement of the USA's foreign policy for over 100 years.

 Ever since the Marines were sent in on behalf of United Fruit Company. Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. :puke:

5. The United States WAS A Bully Nation
There is no doubt that under the evil, illegal, and totally corrupt Bush/Cheney regime of thugs and cronies, the US was THE bully nation.

I feel, though, that since President Obama has begun to serve the people of the United States, there has been a real turn around in US policy towards other nations.

President Obama has reached out to Cuba, Venezuela, and all of the countries of Latin America. He has also reached out to Iran.

The US, under President Barack Obama, may not be perfect, but it is a LOOOOOOONG way from the bully nation it was during the eight long dreary years of tyranny otherwise known as the Bush/Cheney regime.

6. Not only is America a bully nation,
our society has become more & more bullying. You see it everywhere, schools, offices, on the road, in the stores. I don't remember bullying being generally acceptable behavior when I was young. Kids who were bullies were dealt with quickly, usually by school administrators, who communicated clearly with the parents that such behavior would not be tolerated. The occasional adult that behaved in a bullying way was talked to, usually by a relative or church minister. But in both cases, the message was the same: bullying behavior is not acceptable & you will be ostracized if you continue to behave this way.

Now, we just turn our heads, ignore it, & are grateful that we are not the focus of the bully's attention.

America is a harsh society.
