If the torture photos are not released, Congress should subpoena them for the hearings.
If they haven't already.

It'll also give us all the chance to see if Obama holds to the Bush administration's Executive Privilege practice of snubbing lawfully issued Congressional subpoenas.

Or am I wrong?

I can see reasons why they may just be delaying. I bet these photos will come out one way or another.

2. I've little doubt that the photos will be released per court order.
Obama wants to look like he's against releasing the images, to head off attacks that he wants to inflame the ME.

5. Agreed. When ARE those JFK archives going to be declassified, anyway?

9. You're not wrong.
However, if Obama were not to comply, it would be embarrassing to many Democrats. That's why I'm not sure a subpoena will gain traction in Congress unfortunately. But I'd be all for that approach.

10. I agree. I would like to see what an Obama admin does in this situation.
As for the photos, I think not releasing them does more harm. Instead of peeling off the band aid slowly, it's best to just get it over with so we can get past it.

trying to litigate the case whether possibly to go the Supreme Court (Randi just talked to Jonathan Turley) , and may be that is why the repigs are holding or slowing down the process of appointing another replacement. just my theory.
