They succeeded in keeping 78% of families in their homes.
From ACORN:

We've found a solution to the foreclosure crisis that will keep families in their homes. It's so simple and so powerful, we're calling it the Philadelphia Miracle.

The Philadelphia Foreclosure Diversion Program required lenders seeking foreclosures to sit down with homeowners and mediate a resolution. They succeeded in keeping 78% of families in their homes.

2. Just sent mine. It burns me up that...
..our gov't can use our tax dollars to bail out Wall Street but meanwhile not a damn thing has been done to help Main Street or to help people keep their homes. Some mortgage companies banks are TEARING DOWN perfectly good homes rather than reduce their interest or terms on them to sell them or keep people in them. Meanwhile, more and more people and families are homeless - all while perfectly good homes sit empty or get destroyed - and all because of greedy banksters and mortgage companies who'd rather burn them down than sell them at a reduced price or reduced interest.

Can you imagine trying to find a job in this economy - even WITH a home - much less without one?

4. I'm not sure I get it...
http://www.acorn.org/fileadmin/ACORN_Reports/2009/Road_to_Rescue_Report.pdf

This is a document about this program, but it's thin on details. Mediation? What are the compelling factors for the mortgage holders: what would make them want to renegotiate that isn't already a factor?

There are millions upside down, and this won't change that.

7. May be so. But if Republicans hate ACORN, they must be a decent organization..
...and I support them.
