KO should forget about the "WTF Moment" segment.
I am a strong supporter of Keith but the new "WTF Moment" segment feels awkward and I don't like it. The worst part is when he loudly says "What the...!!" It was a bad idea. I also don't care for the "Best Person's" segment much of the time because it often lists people that should just be on the "Worst Person's" list.

Another thing that I would like to see after years of watching his show and seeing the same guests is more diversity in the guests that come on. I also would like to see guests that oppose Keith so that his show can present a real dialog on things. It is just not interesting anymore to see him ask a loaded question and then watch the guest go on and on agreeing with him and simply repeating what KO said in a much more drawn out way. I hate that there is only a section or two of his show that I am interested in watching anymore because of an overall lack of informative content. I feel that Rachel's show provides much more information and is much more interesting even though the format of it is obviously modeled after Countdown. Rachel interviews more interesting guests who have more than just a mirror opinion of the host. I would like to see her show take it even further but I think there is a great foundation for that there.

The bottom-line is that I want to see MSNBC become more edgy and more informative. I used to only watch it for the evening shows but my opinion is that the afternoon shows have now become better programming than the evening shows.

2. I'm a KO fan, but Rachel's show is blatantly better.
If I can only catch one of the shows, it's hers.

7. Amen to that.
I turned my husband onto KO, but now he prefers Rachel Maddow. I do not care for baseball, and whenever KO starts riffing on baseball, I change the channel.

3. Whatever. I still prefer Keith and I love the new "WTF?" feature.
Gives him a chance to show off his humor.

5. He engages in humor most of the show...
I just don't find the new segment humorous. The word "joke" fits but for me not in the right way. It's an awkward segment for an otherwise well organized show.

10. I agree, it's hysterical!
Much better than the late, unlamented "What Have We Learned?", for instance.

And, as much as I like Rachel, the sheer passion Keith has for the issues touches the heart, as well as the mind. She's brilliant, but he has a fire that she's lacking. :)

Which is why the right-wingers hate him with every fiber of their collective being. ;)

6. Perhaps Ed's Psycho Talk segment is popular and this is KO's version
After a few days of it, I'm ready for him to drop it, too.

I remember, early on, Keith used to have two guests with opposing views on the program. They were cautioned that if either one spoke over the other their mic would be cut and they would have to leave. I guess it didn't work out or new segments replaced discussion like that. I think Ed discussing opposing views one on one with a guest is working for him and Keith might try it. He has nothing to lose, really, as he's well versed on the issues.

11. Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention....
I love-love-love Ed Schultz's show, too! He talks about the "kitchen table issues" that are so important, yet he can provide a laugh at the same time.

12. nope.. don't want to see Karl or Dick or any of the PNAC crowd
or Liddy or Rumsfeld or Lott or anybody else who ought to be in jail..

There's enough lies on the air and the other shows have that territory MORE than covered..

15. I quickly got tired of Keith because of the constant "dittoing"
Edited on Thu May-14-09 10:17 AM by Mike Daniels
As you said, it's boring having a host give an opinion and then have guest after guest repeat the same opinion.

I love Eugene Robinson but I'd much rather watch Eugene debate the points w/ Pat "My Favorite Nazi" Buchanan on Morning Joe vs. watch him tactically agree with Keith on everything said.

16. I think it's funny
His Miss California one was a funnier treatment than TDS gave that night. I guess KO wants to do some comedy now?
