The meta issue
is not whether specific photos are released.
Its whether we the people have the right to know what our government is or has been doing.

1. Let's start by having all of us make a list of what we do not have a right to know.
Here's a few of mine:

1. I do not have a right to know troop movements ahead of time in a war situation.

2. I do not have a right to know the substance of every conversation that President Obama has with his top aides on determining policy.

3. I do not have a right to know the names of CIA assets in foreign countries or undercover agents of, say, the NYPD's anti-terrorism unit who are gathering information on possible terrorist plots against us.

That said, if, under 2 and 3 illegal actions were being planned there must be a mechanism for the people to find out and get it stopped. It is a matter of checks and balances.

6. apparently a federal appeals court already ruled
on the specifics of this case and said that the FOIA trumped the claims of the administration re national security.

But here is a link to the legislation:

4. The Bush cabal knew it would be like this. They got pointers from Poppy
They knew that National Security would be all tied up in their torture. GHW Bush knew how to get the CIA and the Congress and the President entangled into a Gordian Knot so that it would be almost impossible to expose any crimes without exposing other major things and people vital to National Security. This beast is rotten to the core. The CIA is a black hole when it comes to any light being shed. It just devours it.
