and here is the proof.

5. There are a lot of expected names on that list.
I wish we could purge the right wing of the party and get rid of most of the people on this list. :grr:

13. In the long run it would be MUCH better for the party politically
if some of these folks were replaced by Republicans.

16. But the answer surely is to ensure that there's a contrast to be drawn
as it is (and as it was the last time the Dems lost power for years) people looked around and said to themselves- gee, it looks like there's not a dime's worth of difference between the parties.

And unfortunately, due to the routine behavior of some of these folks- that's a valid perception when it comes to actually getting positive things done for ordinary folks.

17. The sad thing is I don't even have to look to know both WA senators will be there.
I just wrote Cantwell over it. I hope we these two change their ways or we get some real alternatives here.

6. All credit card industry lobbyist contacts and campaign contributions need to be scrutinized...
...for every senator who voted against this. If anything shows up, they should be exposed and publicly ridiculed for selling out their constituents. And I don't care what letter is listed after their names. Ds and Rs are equally capable of switching their letters to dollar signs.

10. I'll be curious to hear her take on why she voted thusly.
Hell, I don't even live in WA, but I've tossed her some money in the past. Unless she's got a good story, that's done with...

11. Maybe it's the usury rate amount they didn't like.
For people with bad credit, 15% is a great rate. If that rate was doubled, to 30% then would it have got through?

Maybe we should take up the principles behind Islamic Banking - where interest cannot be charged at all.

Mark.

15. 15% is the rate Credit Unions are required by law to stick to-
and currently these loan sharks can borrow money for next to nothing.

Also consider that every nickle that usury bleeds from ordinary folks is one less nickle that will be spent to STIMULATE THE ECONOMY in local communities.

18. Anyone know what the argument was for not voting for the bill?
What were the argued reasons to vote down the amendment?

Also I been seeing the Washington state senators pop up on the list of people voting in some of these ways a couple times. Does anyone have opinions on where the two Washington State Senators are on supporting populist versus corporate issues?

Cantwell (D-WA)
Murray (D-WA)

24. I wouldn't vote for any of those so-called Democrats. Including Arlen Specter.
It doesn't matter what they're called. And they can't really be relied on for anything.
