"... we're talking about rape and murder here." - Lindsey Graham, 2004
Edited on Fri May-15-09 10:24 AM by redqueen
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told reporters, "The American public needs to understand we're talking about rape and murder here. We're not just talking about giving people a humiliating experience." He did not elaborate.

Keep defending it. Keep digging that hole.

Keep screaming, "BUT... PELOSI!" at the top of your lungs.

Squirm, you soulless, lying, hypocritical, pseudo-religious Republicans... squirm.

2. but nobody's "talking" about it
There is no mention of rape and murder by the media, all we hear about is the "three people" who were water boarded and nonsense meme about a caterpillar.

They know.

They are screaming "PELOSI! DEMS!" at the top of their lungs... praying the tactic will work.

the other day Graham also admitted to watching the interrogations...which is what we're referring to...not just that day he saw the abu ghraib pictures...turns out he also watched while terror "suspects" were being interrogated

The article in the OP is what Graham said after seeing the Abu Ghraib photos/videos...the hearing on wednesday was when graham admitted to witnessing interrogations.

7. You say "now"... did he mention this again lately?
He was just defending torture earlier this week... saying how it works and all that.

4. Key words in your post "the media".
Edited on Fri May-15-09 10:58 AM by redqueen
Yes, the M$M is going to follow the script. Which is "PELOSI PELOSI PELOSI PELOSI PELOSI!"

It's up to us, and the few non-M$M outlets, to counter the "PELOSI!!!!" bullshit with this kind of stuff.

16. "It's going to get a good deal more terrible, I'm afraid",
and, Rumsfeld said the treatment was "inconsistent with the values of our nation. It was inconsistent with the teachings of the military ... and it was certainly fundamentally un-American."

I remember watching that presser and hearing him say those words. The devious hypocrisy is amazing. And that quote by Graham, sounds like maybe he thought the jig was up. But it wasn't. Just like the wmd issue, the whole thing was deflected and just months later the bastards were voted into power yet AGAIN. I hope this time around these quotes get some serious, and effective, publicity and consideration.

As for Pelosi, I've expressed my thoughts on the consequences of her involvement or non-involvement in this whole torture thing.Just for the record, I'll repeat that they were conditional and hypothetical and my mind hasn't changed on that, but I was very encouraged to hear her statements yesterday. I thought her defense was forceful and credible. That's what I want to hear and believe. I'm also starting to get it that the perpetrators and right wingers are just loving this whole hooha over Nancy Pelosi. They know just what to do with stuff like this. I need to keep in mind that it is apparently impossible to underestimate the gullibility, and astonishing indifference, of the general population and seemingly just as impossible to overestimate the malignant abilities of the right wing to manipulate the public and get their way.
