WOW -- Laurer LYNCHED Pelosi on Today Show!!! Public Lynching!

I'm just friggin amazed. Matt Laurer just flat out lynched Nancy Pelosi on the Today Show. Pelosi's clash with the CIA was his top headline item this morning, and he pulled in Nazi Senator Kit Bond, then lobbed softballs to him, letting Bond just flat out lynch Pelosi. No rebuttal, no cross arguments, just outrageous charge after outrageous charge leveled by Bond, with Laurer nodding his head in agreement like some fucking sock puppet. In the meanwhile, they were showing the most dopey pictures of Pelosi they could dig up from their files in the background -- ones where she sort of has her less than photogenic shit-eating grin she gets from time to time -- playing in tape loops.

I'm no big Pelosi fan. I've disliked her ever since she took impeachment off the table -- that infuriated me. But what I witnessed today was beyond belief in terms of its grotesque unfairness and flat out viciousness against Pelosi.

Because they did not like the way she took impeachment off the table. But these should be two different issues.

It isn't just that Impeachment was "Off the Table" but that any and all Investigations into the crimes was quashed. Tabled in every committee and only the fake investigations of Conyers was allowed to go forward. If there had been any serious investigative efforts subpoenas would not have been allowed to be ignored...They certainly would never allow me to ignore a subpoena...

Laurence O'Donnel tried to breathe some sensibility into the situation explaining that calling the CIA liars has happened before in 1984....sorry, my mind about shut down and I don't remember the circumstances O'Donnel put out.

I, too, am no Pelosi fan but the railroading of her in the media is outrageous.

We're not going to stop the media for raking our top Dem over the coals, but we need to balance it out for the Pelosi bashers by keeping their sights on Bushco.

She enabled the Bush agenda over and over, and publicly marginalized her own liberal base. What's the worst that can happen if they chew her up on this torture issue? I'd like to see Pelosi's influence reduced anyway. I'd like to see her replaced, in fact.

The problem is that it's reflecting badly on the Democratic party and not just her. But, hey, the DLC loves corporate, MIC-supporters like Nancita.

I'd like to see her go to jail along with the BushCo folks who engineered this. Throw in Rockefeller, Harmon, Reid, and any others who helped Bush get away with his tyranny.

But I'm not persuaded at this point that a minority caucus Representative had the power to stop the Bush administration and the Republicans in 2002 anymore than the millions marching in the streets did. But if Pelosi was fully informed and aided the implementation of torture, then under the bus she goes with the rest of the war criminals and perpetrators of crimes against humanity.

And if she wasn't complicit, wasn't intimately involved, and couldn't have done a goddam thing even if she had known about it, then I hope Pelosi wises up a little bit and starts taking action in the best interests of the country, the constitution and the people of the United States.

I mean I dont believe a word she says but I also dont believe the CIA. I pretty much dont believe any of the fuckers in washington. But I really think they need to focus on someone a little more important than her. She isnt behind this whole mess but she did look the other way. Making it all about her is just a distraction.

You should have seen him when he had Serena Roberts on about her book on ARod. He effing grilled her. He practically called her a liar. She is a good journalist, and a lot better than he is.
So Lauer will grill someone who attacks a Yankee because he is a fan, but let other things slide.

Pelosi isn't a favorite of mine, but Kit Bond is scum.

Oh, and apparently the today show has turned into the Drew Peterson channel. They had a phone interview with him from prison. DP should marry Prejean.
