If Rush Limbaugh is so great--

Why is he only to be found on AM radio? Not on satellite, not even on free FM, and he had a TV show once but it failed. I doubt he has as many listeners as he says. Where is the independent data proving it?

And it seems that most of the local rush-wannabees are also on AM exclusively. If he is so important, such a vital antidote to the liberal "drive-by media", then why is he staying on such a limited format?

And why is cable news paying him any attention at all? The big three networks and PBS pretty much ignore him because it's all about political food fights and little real news where he is concerned.

And if he is so wise and insightful, why doesn't he run for some office? Because he knows he'll fail. Get him out of his enclave and he's exposed. He really is little more than an entertainer.

Keep him completely insulated from the real world by a phalanx of screeners and yesmen so that he starts to believe his own bullshit.

Because, as you noted, he's an entertainer, nothing more. He's quite aware of that fact.

He's also an actor. He gets paid ridiculous amounts of money to play a role. That role doesn't include public service.

His show is 'bartered' to AM stations. The don't buy in, they just air the show in exchange for some of the airtime for ads. The radio stations airing Rush's show DO NOT pay for it.

because he would get killed in the debates, he has no debating skills. You can't just hang up on the caller when debating in an open forum with rules.

Plus has all this power yet no accountability. It's a coward's dream job

I've never listend to AM in my life and I run across rush in my car from time to time.
