Torture is the ultimate lesson in "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."
When our government accepted the idea of torture and participated in it, then how is that any different than saying "I guess all those women who were tortured into saying they were witches REALLY were witches;" how did we forget?

2. Solly Mack and I have noticed for a long time that the stories about torture
are reported over and over and over as if for the first time.

The media acts as if each story is brand new again and people who read the story do, too.

It's bizarre.

The only thing that I can figure is that torture is, even in imagination, traumatic in some way and it gets ditched by memory.
