I have a good friend who is engaged to a sailor who just started a Navy teaching assignment in Virginia. His specialty is aviation and his last assignment was with as an aircrewman with a carrier based squadron. He just got notice that his orders are canceled and that he will be heading to Afghanistan as a foot soldier. He'll get trained to do what grunts do but his life and career has been turned upside down. I heard of this kind of thing was Iraq was going very badly. This doesn't sound good at all.

1. Obama just changed out the CO so he must not be very happy.
It could just be the new broom doing something to look engaged.

2. I read a post from a woman..
whose son was in Afghanistan, but it was a while back. He was in an area right on the border, and it was ..well..non-stop war. I have not read much news from either Iraq, or Afghanistan in a very long time. Out of sight, out of mind.

3. A sailor going to be a ground pounder??
Sorry, something fishy about that. Especially if he was Aircrew, sounds like somebody is feeding you a line my friend. 7 years in the Marine Corps here in the Wing btw.

7. I have no doubt he's going to Afghanistan. It may be in a training capacity.
Known as embedded training teams, or ETTs, groups of highly-skilled Soldiers, Airmen, Marines and Sailors are teaching a military--barely three years old--how to build, train and maintain a professional army.

Yes. Sailors.

While the Navy defers to the Army, for now, as the resident experts on ground wars, Sailors do hold an edge in some critical qualities of any profession--logistics and organization.

Still sucks.

8. Totally different tho then what you were implying,
Not trying to be a dickhead, just looking for accuracy. Yes I know they have Multi-Branch teams training Iraqi and Afghani Military, more than likely though (just guessing here) he wont be training infantry tactics since the Navy does not teach that type of skill. More than likely he will be doing liason type work between the branches or in unit organization as you posted. I can see by your av that you were in Viet Nam so you too have been there, done that. What branch?

"...When the adenoma exerts pressure on the third ventricle and the optic chiasma in the brain the patients may suffer from hallucinoses..."

it seems all religions are born of hallucinoses... it also seems the Prophets Paranoia is woven into his teachings.. if Mohamed was alive today would he just be another homeless person without insurance wandering the streets talking to the sky.." ?? has all the suffering was caused by, and is to be caused by that religion the product of a misunderstood and un treated illness.??
