Above all else, profits must be maintained in our health care system

It's the American way.

Single payer is off the table. Public Option is on the edge of the table, waiting to fall off as soon as someone sneezes.

The focus in this round of health care reform is to lower costs a little bit. Insurance company profits are not negotiable. It's the same as the Walmart model for retail. Automate the distribution system and lower the labor costs. The cheap crap we buy at Walmart is meant to be thrown away in a few years. When we talk about health care reform, the cheap products are people. It is long past time to put people before profits.
