Hey Dick - Mr Roh has provided a way out for you
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8064799.stm
<snip>
The former president of South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun, who had been under investigation for alleged corruption, has apparently committed suicide.

A spokesman said Mr Roh, 62, appeared to have jumped into a ravine while mountain climbing near his home and had left a brief suicide note.

Last month, Mr Roh apologised over allegations his family took $6m in bribes during his 2003-2008 term.

Last month, Mr Roh was questioned over allegations that he had taken more than $6m in bribes from a wealthy shoe manufacturer, Park Yeon-cha, who was indicted in December on separate bribery and tax evasion charges.

The former president later apologised for the scandal.

"I feel ashamed before my fellow citizens. I am sorry for disappointing you," he said in a televised statement on 30 April.

Mr Roh admitted his wife had received $1m from Mr Park. However, he said it was a payment to help her settle a debt, and not a bribe.

1. Suicide is wrong, it takes away whatever good a person could do
when they realize there faults or difficulties. At that moment, they may be think they are in a tough position to actually do good. If they reach such a position of shame, finding a way to be forgiven, and then with the new knowledge of what was wrong in the past, they might actually be able to move forward making better decisions.

Many times suicide is to stop a person from making that change to better things. In that it is wrong on many levels, and is a waste of a life.

My sympathies go out to the family of Roh Moo-hyun, that they might find peace and comfort in a tough time.

2. I have absolutely no sympathy
for corrupt leaders.
As you can see Mr. Roh's wife was part of the corruption.
Cowards like Roh and Cheney commit their deeds and then don't want to face the consequences because of their sense of entitlement.

3. Every once in awhile, a person that made mistakes
Can spend a great deal of time doing good the rest of their lives. If they had been exposed as corrupt, they could not do much more damage. but if they die, then any possibility that they could do good was removed.

As far as sympathy, I find it is not just for those I sympathise with, but also for my own self, since it keeps me from being what I do not want to be. But it is a choice.

5. But with proper application of justice,
He can not do harm, and he is given the opportunity to do more of the good things he has done, everyone does some good and some bad, and he has done some good in his life also.

Nobody is all good or all bad, even though I disagree with many things Cheney has done, he has the capacity for good also.

6. Honestly, Suicide Would Be A Coward's Way Out...
While I wish I could think that there is good in all people, we saw for 8 long years how evil and a meglomaniac this poor excuse for a human being has been. By his word people were tortured, thousands of innocent Iraqis were needlessly killed as well as over 5,000 young Americans (not to mention the thousands who will spend the rest of their lives with scars of their Iraq experiences). His actions were wonton, deliberate and he has no regrets for all the damage he's caused. Sorry, I don't see any good...not a shred in this war criminal.

I'd be more than satisfied if cheney dies a very natural death...behind bars. I actually that shows some compassion...far more than he's accorded others. You reap what you sew.

7. Jail time would give him time to think.
This is just an inhuman thought. I am frankly surprised at you.

We can do better than becoming one of them. I would expect this from the right.

10. I will never be one of them
but if the coward Cheney chose suicide, I would not have one iota of sympathy. Indeed I'd pop the cork of a bottle of the best wine. He and his family are all over the TV defending his atrocities. Sorry - sympathy is earned.

15. I take it you are like me and against the death penalty?
Edited on Sat May-23-09 08:50 AM by sellitman
How can you be against the death penalty and yet root for suicide? Cheney is a monster but time behind bars would be the way to go no?

9. The dick needs to be in jail and soon
and before he can do any more harm. I personally hope he and the rest of bushco live a long long time while being incarcerated. I want them to lie awake at night thinking about the evil that they are

Listen to him - he believes he's the only man who can keep anyone safe.
