What’s really in that pool water?
Pool season is upon us, with public swimming pools opening everywhere this Memorial Day weekend. So come on in. The water’s warm.

Maybe a little too warm.

A new national survey finds that 17 percent of American adults actually admit they pee in the pool.

And nearly eight in 10 adults are convinced that other swimmers are doing it, even if they don’t own up to it themselves.

2. Well...
... in the scheme of things piss isn't what you have to worry about. There are no germs in it.

That said, we put chlorine in pools for a reason. All organic matter is oxidized, and pretty quickly.

Now, folks who piss in the pool are pretty sorry examples of people, but there you go.

6. I've got my own pool thank you very much...
and there is no Pee in it. The neighborhood pool is full of babies and toddlers all summer and I'm sure it's full of all sorts of nasty. I think they are who you have to worry about. I'm certain those swim diapers they use don't keep anything in.

7. Have you ever used that stuff that makes the water turn purple when someone pees in the pool?
I have some friends who used it one summer. They loved it.
