The AP gives this round to...........Cheney
Analysis: Obama debating Cheney is a plus for GOP

<<CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In political debate, the side that keeps its arguments simple and repeats them again and again is likely to gain the advantage. It is an easier sale, especially when the topic is as scary as terrorism.

That's how Republicans got the edge in the dispute over President Barack Obama's planned closing of the Guantanamo Bay prison. And it put former Vice President Dick Cheney on a separate but almost equal platform with the president of the United States, which is a plus any time the party out of power can manage it.>>

1. '...any time the party out of power can manage it.'?!?
The corporate media are falling all over themselves to get their microphones within range of the Foulmouthed Gargoyle's snarling piehole! Where were those mikes during the long years when the Democrats were wandering in the wilderness?

11. Yeah, :wtf:
I don't remember them being as eager to cover Al Gore's speeches criticizing Bush's rush to invade/occupy Iraq in 2002 and his (mis-)administration's failures in regards to handling terrorism in 2004. They helped the GOP and their SBVT associates to smear Kerry from one end to the other, and, during this past election, running wall to wall coverage of McCain/Palin ("two minute hate") rallies. Now, THEY are giving unprecedented amount of coverage to Cheney to spew his hateful and dishonest venom against President Obama. :puke:

6. Yahoo also posted this: RNC's below-the-belt shot at Pelosi
Politico

<<The RNC video, which begins with the speaker’s head in the iconic spy-series gun sight, implies that Pelosi has used her feminine wiles to dodge the truth about whether or not she was briefed by the CIA on the use of waterboarding in 2002. While the P-word is never mentioned directly, in one section the speaker appears in a split screen alongside the Bond nemesis – and the video’s tagline is “Democrats Galore.”

The wisdom of equating the first woman speaker of the House with a character whose first name also happens to be among the most vulgar terms for a part of the female anatomy might be debated – if the RNC were willing to do so, which it was not. An RNC spokesperson refused repeated requests by POLITICO to explain the point of the video, or the intended connection between Pelosi and Galore. >>

Analysis: Obama debating Cheney is a plus for GOP

A interesting example of right wing propaganda in that headline . . .

Remember -- not only has our press been delivered into mega-corporate hands ...

but all of the News Source Agencies have also changed hands over the last two

decades -- not for the better!

Of course, there was no debate between Obama and Cheney -

and, of course, as his daughter has related, Cheney fears prosecution for his

war crimes. The world, IMO, is waiting for Obama to move on prosecution.

They let that evil rule the land from "undisclosed locations". No questions asked.

7. How did Republicans get "the edge" over President Obama, exactly?
:wtf:

Is the party really "on the comeback" that Steele was talking about earlier last week? Gee, I must have missed........something.

:eyes:

Oh, and WHO exactly is putting Cheney on "an almost equal platform" with POTUS? Certainly not the American public AFAIK.

18. Yeah, I'm pretty pissed about those NIMBY Dems too
Eight years of funneling taxpayer money to Buscho despite their lack of "plans" and they only choose to exercise "accountability "NOW?????? Just because Obama doesn't have a plan completed for closing Gitmo (which is not even scheduled to be completed until NEXT January)???

:wtf:

Where have these gutless wonders been for the past 8 years?!!!

I'm glad, however, that Obama remains resolute in his decision to close Gitmo and I have little doubt that he will follow through on it. I'd just like to see our Dems in Congress exhibit a little more "courage" AGAINST the Repukes rather than against President Obama.

They just say, "We already have Kacynzky (sp?). We already have Massoui (sp? again). Isn't that what it's for?"

19. Not just the AP from what I have read
The WH needs to do a better job to ensure that what look like head to head match ups do not happen again. We have the bully pulpit and need to use it wisely.

Just because we have the WH and Congress doesn't mean we can afford an invisible DNC chair.
