I miss how he supported all of the Democratic candidates. First he supported Obama until he lost by 9.4% in PA and then he supported Hillary. He's what keeps me coming to DU. :pals:

Funny thing - most of the people on it came here in late 2007 or early 2008, just in time to shout and scream for the primaries. I wonder how many of them are still regular readers or posters?

The 2004 primary season was not nearly as poisonous.

I learn a great deal here and like many of the people. But DU is only an Internet site. It should not be taken too seriously.

I work hard for the Democratic Party in my real life. I remember going to a few fundraisers and events in northern and central Illinois during primary season. People wearing Hillary and Obama gear sat next to each other, ate dinner, drank beer and interacted amicably. I remember only one event where I heard serious trashing of candidates other than Obama. I expected more of that in Illinois, where Obama was the favorite son. On the whole, it did not happen. Real activists know they have to put their heads down, put one foot in front of the other, and WORK.

I think it is the anonymity of the Internet. And some of those people were not really Clinton OR Obama supporters. They were here only to cause trouble.

Even some I didn't think were as bad as the "immune" 20k+ posters.

This place still hasn't recovered from the last primary and probably will not.

Got a lot of PMs from PUMAs saying I was cool and shit but I was trying to be as neutral as possible, there was a lot of bogus claims from both sides during that time.

so we could go back and reminisce about all the great discussions we had before they were executed and buried. :-)
