Revisionist History in the Works: Cheney Looking For A Book Deal

The New York Times reports that former Vice President Dick Cheney is looking to sign a book deal, and is seeking a $2 million advance, to tell his story: "The coming crush of books reflects what former Bush officials describe as a desire to produce their own drafts of history after gritting their teeth for so long over the works of the journalists and disgruntled colleagues who penned the first, second and third drafts before them."

This is why we MUST insist our leadership take a hard stand NOW in disputing Cheney's incredulous lies and distortions. History is being written as we speak about the Bush administration. If we allow them to tell the tale, then our voices will have become muted and our honest assessment of history will become the stuff of urban legend and instantly discredited.

Cheney will have to be ultra careful in detailing his actions and meetings. While there are still gaping holes in the public record about his shenanigans, what is known and the indisputable outcomes of the Bush-Cheney policies will make for some very interesting tip-toeing around the truth.

Of course, there's always the possibility that Cheney would write the book as a final confession, skip his meds the day the book came out, and quietly slip away into the waiting embrace of Satan's minions.
