For those of you that engage in such things, a few prayers for some friends please.
Some friends and colleagues of my wife and I lost two daughters, one pregnant, and another friend of ours lost a niece in a horrible car accident last night. Not a good day.

1. Oh, I am so sorry to hear about these awful tragedies.
I know many, many prayers and affirmations are being lifted up for those who are dealing with these unutterably terrible losses, including you and your wife. May that knowledge somehow ease the pain. I have been in such a situation and know the lasting sorrow that goes with it.

Peace and blessings.

2. We just talked to the father of two of the girls
Obviously beside himself. His wife and him are EMTs in the area so we're just hoping they didn't respond to the accident before someone could let them know. Thank yoiu for your kind words. I'm going to pass this thread along to the family in some fashion eventually.

I am so sorry. What a burden this must be for all of you to bear. I hope it helps just a little bit to know there will be people here thinking of you.

8. Wow, like 80+ views and four different comments?
We used to have some heart and empathy around here. I know you don't know these people. Maybe it's not in your belief system to pray but for pity's sake acknowledge with me the loss of parents who are among the best, most generous, most dedicated and heroic people you'd ever want to know.

Sorry, a bit emotional right now, as an introvert, virtual hugs are all I get.

24. I added them to my prayer list
I will be praying for you as well. I know that you are having a very rough time right now and I think that your frustration over the number of replies is normal at this time. When I first told people about my mother's cancer diagnosis, I had a hard time because some people didn't respond to me right away. I later realized that they cared deeply, but were not sure what to say to me. I am sure there are many prayers being said for your friends by people viewing your thread. Some may not leave a message, because they feel that praying is the most important thing.

41. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say
I know that I see threads like this all the time, and sometimes I just avoid clicking on them because I just don't feel like another post saying "I'm sorry" is going to make anybody feel better. I think this is one of those times for a lot of people, because this particular thread is so tragic and because we seem to be having all too many posts like this these days.

Sorry for your loss

9. I'll be keeping the family in my prayers…
The pain of losing two children at the same time must be unimaginable. I'm sure people are surrounding them now with support, but the hardest times ahead for the family will be after the funeral(s) and after their friends and co-workers go on with life as usual. The journey of grief for them is going to be a long one and they're going the need good friends like you to be there for them. I'll be keeping you in my prayers as well.

please accept my heartfelt sympathy for you and your friends, and know that I wish you peace and healing. I wish there was more I could do to help. Do your friends have the resources they need for funeral expenses? Times are so tough now for so many. I don't have much, but would be more than happy to donate if it will help. Hugs to all of you.

28. I know, and I know a lot of people don't believe it, but I do believe prayers...
Positive thoughts, the collective unconsious working as one; whatever you want to call it, actually does send a wave of comfort, however fleeting and perhaps insignificant, to the recipients. And that can't hurt. Even if it doesn't help. It makes us better as a species to do so in my opinion.

33. How awful.
As a parent, I can't imagine anything worse than the loss of a child--except the loss of two. My sincere condolences to your friends, and my sympathies to your community. We had an incident here a couple of weeks ago in which friends/neighbors/colleagues lost a very young child--the whole neighborhood and everyone at work is still shaken by what seems a cruel and senseless loss.

35. I hope all close to these precious lost ones find perspectives.
I know that a lot of lifetime hurt can continue after unexpected horrors like this. Happened to a good friend of mine -- twenty years, still hurts -- and literally years were lost in his life.

Perhaps, think, if it were you, yourself so quickly and unexpectedly taken, wouldn't you want your family, friends, and all you love not to dwell too long in sadness, but instead move on and live. I'm betting you would. I'm betting those now gone would too.

Not too quickly though. Revel in the memories and experience the lives of those who remain, then when ready and calmed, let unfettered rationale find ways to protect those remaining in memory of those you will not forget.

God, grant peace!

39. a prayer that helped me when my dad died
I Am There
by James Dillet Freeman

Do you need Me?
I am there.
You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.
I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.
I am at work, though you do not recognize My works.
I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.
Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me as I am, and then but as a feeling and a faith.
Yet I am there. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.
When you need Me, I am there.
Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.
I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.
I am in you, and you are in Me.
Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for only in your mind are the mists of “yours” and “mine.”
Yet only with your mind can you know Me and experience Me.
Empty your heart of empty fears.
When you get yourself out of the way, I am there.
You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.
And I am in all.
Though you may not see the good, good is there, for I am there.
I am there because I have to be, because I am.
Only in Me does the world have meaning; only out of Me does the world take form; only because of Me does the world go forward.
I am the law on which the movement of the stars and the growth of living cells are founded.
I am the love that is the law's fulfilling. I am assurance. I am peace. I am oneness. I am the law that you can live by. I am the love that you can cling to. I am your assurance. I am your peace. I am one with you. I am.
Though you fail to find Me, I do not fail you.
Though your faith in Me is unsure, My faith in you never wavers, because I know you, because I love you.
Beloved, I am there.

and,yes...they are in my prayers.
