CNN discusses Judge Sotomayor primarily in context of conservative opinion

While not surprising, this made me so angry that I left the room and wrote the following email to CNN:

"Minutes ago the CNN anchor asked Jim Acosta to tell viewers about President Obama's Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Rather than discussing her background and qualifications, Mr. Acosta jumped immediately into describing her in the context of conservative opinion. He talked about a group that had come out against her nomination, and chose to highlight some cherrypicked quotes that supported their concern that she was an "activist judge." I did not learn one thing about Judge Sotomayor except that (surprise) conservatives were going to come out strong against her nomination. Conservative opinion, while relevant, neither describes nor defines her as a person and as a judge. Please do a better job in the future of objectively reporting on this nomination."

2. Everything on MSM is framed by conservative talking points.....
..... I can't watch. I'll listen to Democracy Now! and Thom Hartmann for the news.

3. I agree, but so many people get their news primarily from the MSM that
this then becomes their reference point. It's just so frustrating.

4. Funny. I don't want Sotomayor because she's not activist ENOUGH.
She's arguably the least liberal of all the names on Obama's short list.

Still, the worst of any of Obama's picks is a billion times better than the best McCain pick would have been, and I wish her speedy confirmation.

5. CNN also had Ed Henry on who said she is a 'slam dunk'
That the Republicans are already weak enough in the Hispanic community and would not want to further alienate them by fighting Judge Sonia Sotomayor.

7. I saw that too...outrageous
And he didn't even name the conservative group who created the website he referred to, but was careful to give the full name of the site so everyone can go visit it. It was such a bullshit piece of 'reporting', I switched off.
