To anyone who is worried that the repukes are going to fight the Sotomayor nomination:

God! I sure hope so!

The repubs are hemorrhaging Hispanic votes. It doesn't matter what reason they give for not giving her an up-or-down vote (which apparently they are no longer concerned about...), it's going to look like racism. Most of however many Hispanics they still have on board are going to jump ship. Maybe not to us, but almost certainly to the Island of the Independents.

They want to cut their own throats. We're not handing them the knife; they are grabbing it away as violently as they can...

Look at those videos at C-Span. This is the woman they're calling Obama's Harriet Miers. Now you and I know that any woman that Obama picked would have been slapped with that label. That was just waiting to happen.

But watch those videos of her in action. It amazes me that people are attacking her as someone who was an intellectual lightweight and didn't ask penetrating questions. She'd actually developed a reputation as a hard-nosed, tough judge to be in front of. She's a fantastic pick and we'll be lucky to get her.
