I Propose "Prop Two" for California - Outlawing Adultery and Divorce
Marriage is between a man and a woman, exclusively, for life. It's in the Bible. I propose Prop Two, a California Ballot Initiative, to criminalize adultery and divorce. Because:

Mark 10:11,12 He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

Rom 7:2-3 "For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man."

1Cor 7:39 A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives.

Luke 16:18b The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

1Cor 7:10-11 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

NIV, Exodus 20:14 You shall not commit adultery.

NIV, Proverbs 6:32 But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself.

NAS, Luke 18:18-20) And a certain ruler questioned Him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments, 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and mother.'"

How many signatures do we need to get it on the ballot?

9. It doesn't matter what they want, it's in the Bible.
We can't selectively apply Biblical law, everyone must obey!

Once did he mention homosexuality.

He never mentioned homosexuality and only mentioned divorce once.

However, he did come out in favor of insider trading and embezzlement -- so, go for it.

If some people in CA have to live under Biblical dictates, then all people should have to.

10. My point is that many of us including me didn't vote for Prop. 8 so why
do you want to punish us? Remember the equal rights amendment years ago that Reagan struck down? No one, other than feminist women, seemed to be all upset, including gay men, that he did that. If we brought the ERA back it would cover not only women and minorities but gays too. Maybe it's time to strike the bigoted, xenophobic RW where it will hurt them, permanently, while we have a bi-racial President who is sensitive to these issues. Also, be careful what you wish for. Not being able to end a marriage that didn't work out is a very unpleasant situation regardless of your sexual orientation. I know. I was born in a country that forbids divorce. I don't want to go into a bunch of personal family history here but some of the ramifications extended far beyond the married couples in question.

11. I'm all for that and put laws in place that address individual rights and
partnership rights. If the religiosos want a marriage ceremony, let them do it in their churches with no ties to the government. This way gay friendly churches could perform ceremonies without any government interference for cultural and commitment reasons.

...voted YES on Prop H8. They want defense of marriage? Then take away their right to divorce.

15. I'm for outlawing marriage period.
Let's just have civil unions with a 5-year expiration date. Every five years you get to reevaluate your decision. The state determines child support percentages from both bio-parents' income, and joint custody is always law, except in cases of documented abuse.

32. Agreed! Protect marriage. Reinstate the death penalty for adultery.
It is ironic that those who say they want to protect marriage never consider outlawing divorce, or making it harder to get married.

transportation available to them, so creating this one narrow restriction isn't really a big thing.

It's entirely in keeping with the wording of the ruling yesterday
