Research task: Righty-judges saying their backgrounds affect decisions
Look through the biographies, interviews, etc. of Right-wing judges and justices for statements they make about the role of their backgrounds in their decision-making.

It should be easy to knock down the absurd idea that only OUR judges and justices attribute any part in the process of judicial decision-making to their life experiences. There's a voluminous record out there to be sifted through. I wish I could start now, but I have to get up early.

1. Not much help, but
I am 99% sure I saw an interview with Alito where he said exactly that. Well, not background but his views re: religion.
