Need lead on device for individuals with medical issues: where to find out more
Edited on Thu May-28-09 05:07 PM by Mike 03
Last night my father fell over in the middle of the night and was unable to get up, even with the help of my mother. He has been very weakened by chemo. He told me that he was not sure he would even have been able to get to a phone, and that it was lucky my mother happened to be there.

He mentioned that he had heard about devices people could wear on the wrist or neck to alert authorities if they were in need of help but unable to get to a phone.

Does anyone know a bit of information on such devices, or where I could learn more, or even something to "search" on in Google? I have never seen such a device, but I have vague memories of having heard advertisements for such a thing. Any help on this would be appreciated.

If this exists, it is a brilliant idea!

ON EDIT:

Okay, I found some stuff online! Sorry.

8. Our local hospital
has them, but we only have one hospital. It is handled through senior assistance programs.
I would suggest trying to find one through an agency rather than that private company that advertises on tv in case it would be cheaper.
