Cars are just too damned expensive for many Americans.

And yet, in the vast majority of the USA, getting around without a car is a major PITA.

There's the cost of the car. There's insurance and taxes, in many states. And then there's maintenance!

Any of yall ever seen help wanted ads that say something like this: "8.00 per hour. Must have own transportation."

What's wrong with this picture? :banghead: :grr:

1. I agree!

The car I'm driving now was on its way to the crusher. I saw the guy loading it on the truck. Usually I see him pulling them on with winches.

The brake system needed an overhaul. I got the 1990 Olds for $400 (crusher rate) and spent about $200 on brakes.

If it would have costed much more I'd be stuck on this hill with no way out x(

Is it any wonder that they have to choose between insurance and food? And they they are breaking the law driving around with no insurance. Our system creates criminals.
