Malmstrom AFB gets $12 million fitness center
and of course all the right wing comments who are totally for it were all big tea party cheerleaders. You remember the tea parties - they were upset about government spending. One commenter made a good point about airmen supporting the local fitness centers. I thought republicans were all about free enterprise.

Malmstrom's new $12 million state-of-the-art fitness center drew rave reviews at a grand opening ceremony Wednesday.

Col. Michael Fortney, Malmstrom missile wing commander, was among those who liked it.

"This is a great day for the airmen of Malmstrom Air Force Base and their families," Fortney said, noting that Malmstrom was the last of the three cold-weather, northern-tier missile bases to get a modern fitness facility.

But gyms are "not just for good times," shooting hoops with buddies, Fortney said.

1. Langley AFB used to have a commander who was a sailor
the marina was top notch-jet skis, boats of all sizes.... all free

then the next commander was a golf guy. $1 million for the golf cart path.

but it was of course to save America from the evil Soviet horde

2. You are aware that MWR funds
come from a 5 percent surtax that is place on the Military Commissaries. So it is mostly funded by military members themselves.
