Of course, the term "Jean sale" in French, would mean "John dirty".

Seriously, though, despite what the fashionistas say, there is no such thing as "a jean". It's always "jeans", plural. Same with "a pant", "a short", and "a trouser" -- no, it's pants, shorts, trousers!
