I just heard Sen. McConnell on CNN with John King spouting lies about Universal health care...again!

It infuriates me that your media does not seem to do any digging to find the truth about health care in Canada or the other democracies that have Universal Health Care. They allow these false statements to be said without countering them in any way.
Sen. McConnell just said."Americans don't want the government between themselves and their doctors." (in other words they want to choose there own doctors)...He also said there will be rationing and the people in countries where there is "government run" health care have a shorter life span. These lies are constantly spewed out by the opponents of Universal health care.
Number one...Here in Canada WE CHOOSE OUR OWN DOCTORS. I have changed doctors myself in recent years. The health care is NOT GOVERNMENT RUN! The doctors make all decisions about treatment and care. The government pays the bills...period!... There is no rationing.
Number two....According to the figures I have seen our life span is 3 years longer than the American life span. I'm sure you could find the exact figures if you did some research, but I'm so angry I wanted to post this and am not taking the time right now.
DON'T FALL FOR THE LIES AND PROPOGANDA THE RIGHT WING IS PUTTING OUT THERE!

Jack Layton to spread virtues of Canadian universal health care to White House

TORONTO - Armed with the virtues of Canadian health care, Jack Layton is heading to Washington this week, hoping to bolster President Barack Obama's intentions to reform the American health system.

The federal New Democrat leader is to spend two and a half days meeting with White House officials and members of Congress.
