The Million Letters for Single Payer Health Care---Just DO IT

The Million Letters for Single Payer Health Care

Pass this around to all you know please.

I just sent my letter—it was quick and easy and space for adding your own comments.

And in the process, I went to my US Representatives website and discovered he had a poll up about satisfaction relating to health care plan.
-Poll results at this time said 62% did NOT like their current health care plan.

As a result of receiving your questions and suggestions about the Million Letters for Health Care campaign, I am providing more information.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE of the campaign (embedded links):

The Million Letters for Health Care campaign's primary objective is to get solid support from the U.S. Congress for single-payer by Americans communicating to their U.S. Representatives. The communications are achieved by getting a million Americans to sign up to receive monthly reminders to print a prepared, pre-addressed letter to their U.S. Representative .... signing it and sending it to create an unbelievable flood of envelopes every month through the U.S. Mail to the U.S. Congress in Washington D.C. This activity will get much media attention ... which will help maximize the awareness of Americans and the support from the Congress.

BASIS of the campaign
Read here about the solid basis of the campaign ... which is not only a guaranteed way to get the necessary strong support in the U.S. Congress, but also is guaranteed to get the support of President Obama. The campaign happens to satisfy President Obama's recommendation to write letters in every U.S. Congressional District ... which satisfies the mandate that he communicagted on 4/3/2007 that he said he MUST have in order to support us.

Here is the Web link for your letter………..***

1. Send postcards as they don't go through the same de-tox procedures as letters.
I'll send a few.

What a great idea.

With all the e-mail - send them PAPER that is harder to ignore or foist off onto an intern to take care of.

2. I did not know that. Thanks for the tip. Ok--postcard also as
I already stamped and sealed the letter.

I can understand--that you mention it--why postcards would go through easier--no chance of enclosing nasty stuff.

11. Cut regular cardstock in half for two large postcards
If you have more words than will fit, you have too many.

9. If there is insurance reform within
the next 2 years, the life you save may be mine. I'd be most grateful. I've been hopping around the board today posting things like this because I'm scared shitless. I had a PET Scan on Friday... all good - in remission for 6 months. Only one small tumor in the pelvis and NO OTHER CANCER OR TUMORS IN ANY PART OF MY BODY. They've x-rayed, scanned and bled me. Poisoned me with chemo and micro waved me with radiation. My blood and evey organ they could do something to, or stick some hing is cancer free. To stay that way I need the scans to catch any changes. They can be treated. Like diabetes can't be cured but, it can be treated. But, if I'm can't pay for the scans to catch it and the ins. co. won't pay. I'm dead meat.

When my Mom was 90 she was covered by Medicare and Medicaid. She had suffered a stroke which only affected her right side. Her mind, sight, hearing, and brain was fine. However the ol ticker was already 90 and tired. A doctor wanted to put a pacemaker in her and she said, 'no I've lived a full life - leave me alone'. So they called me to try to talk her into it. As I was explaining this to her she said, I told him no and I'm telling you no. He's only doing this for money. Don't make his wallet fatter. And in her broken English said, 'we all gotta die sometimes' :) She died 3 years ago at age 92.

I'm 59 and they want to write me off as Dead Woman Walking. :grr:

Sorry for the overly emotional rant but, I'm just praying for more time I kn mow we all die sometime. Please excuse any typos or grammar mistakes. I'm a basketcase today. :grouphug:

10. I am so very happy for you. I do
not know what I would do should I be diagnosed with cancer. sometimes i wonder if I would fight. I suppose it would depend on the stage of the cancer. or prognosis. Having been in the health care field for a long time, and seeing it all, I just wonder.

But do not apologize, You have gone through a lot. Take care.
