RW Pro-life Christians defile the name of Christ
by pretending that any of their beliefs or actions represent the loving grace of the Lord.

I don't see how they could be further from his teachings if they tried to be.

4. The church and politicians find the whackos useful
and until they are no longer useful
the church and politicians will continue to pander
to the worst of the worst among us all

5. I include many Churches in the RW Christian frauds
There are churches that are pro-life, pro-living, charitable, non-judgmental, accepting, understanding of their own flaws......but there aren't many of them

9. I haven't experienced a silent church
for me that would be an improvement to the judgmental churches of my experience

but I agree, a Church that does not speak out is also failing

6. As a pro-choice Christian, I feel that they defile not only the name of Christ but
also some of his followers who are not interested in imposing their beliefs on others and judging them as though they had been chosen for that. These RW fundies invoke Christ in the hateful things that they do. They need to take responsibility for their own actions especially since they behave in a way that seems counter to the teachings of Christ.

7. I doubt they give a single thought to their brethren
when you are righteous as they think they are, mere mortals don't matter

10. I agree. I am so sick of the followers of "Rambo Jesus"
I hope there is outrageous backlash against the fundamental elements who have hijacked and twisted a message of peace and love. They do not belong in polite society.

11. I wish I had the skill to write a compelling book
about their failure to follow the Lord's teachings.

Though maybe it should be a comic book instead. The elders are already lost. Need to get the young minds before they are closed.

12. How is their understanding of Christianity any less "valid"...
than that of so-called liberal Christians?

They're probably equally sure that your version of the Christian religion is flat out wrong, as you are that they're a bunch of crazies.

Looking at it from the outside, my opinion of both your interpretations is about the same.

15. due to internal inconsistency
they claim to follow the Bible but ignore most of what the Bible says.
They focus only on the Old Testament fire and brimstone verses and ignore the New Testament Christ's teachings of love and tolerance.

So if they called themselves Old Testamentarians' they'd be valid but calling themselves Christians when they completely ignore Christ's lessons makes them less valid based on their own standard of the literal interpretation of the Bible.

New liberal Christians do not believe in literal interpretation of the Bible so they aren't saddled with resolving unresolvable conflicts nor ignoring a couple of thousand years of scientific progress.
