Why did Federal Marshalls stop protecting Dr. Tiller?

Why did Federal Marshalls stop protecting Dr. Tiller?
Just heard on ABC Nightly news that Dr. Tiller drove an armoured car, often wore a bullet proof vest to work and was under the protection of Federal Marshalls for three years in the past.

Don't have details or a link, as I just saw it on the TV.

But the question is, who first assigned the marshalls (because obvioulsy there was good cause) and then who decided he no longer needed their protection (and based on what)? Because he obvioulsy did.


It will be interesting to read more about this in the coming days.

He was shot going to church.

HE WAS GOING TO CHURCH and that's where he was murdered.

It does not get much worse than that ............................

7. CNN's Don Lemon made a big deal about Dr. Tiller being shot IN church
He was actually inside the church acting as an usher.

8. I'm sorry..I didn't realize that..
Can you imagine being a part of the congregation?

It's so sad for Dr Tiller's family, friends, and everyone who sees this as the heinous act of violence that it is.

12. His wife was in the choir ........
They had four children, seven grandchildren.

This is beyond heinous.

I am rethinking my belief about the death penalty tonight, but just for tonight, because it feels better ....................

14. Yes, CNN said that a number of the congregation were witnesses
Dr. Tiller's wife was in the choir - I hope not where she saw the murder. And that the killer had been to the church previously, so they recognized him. Congregation members were also the ones that got the license plate number and vehicle description for the police.

This guy is not going to walk away from this murder, that is for sure.

5. Yeah, but he's in a medical building. The abortion clinic shot up in Norfolk was across the
hall from my bank - Navy Federal Credit Union I was going to go there that day but changed plans at the last minute. That's kinda weird.

17. not necessarily
growing up my doctor's office was a converted house as were many such offices in my town. Medical buildings for doctors was an urban and fairly new thing. Some are going back to the old way due to cost.

6. This is actually becoming more common among all sorts of medical services.
The rents are cheaper, and they can locate in neighborhoods where their services are in more demand.
