1. That's a great idea...
even better if you do it in Operation Rescue's name.

2. Thank you for posting this
Mind if I kick it? When things get this hot here at DU, a lot of good stuff sinks.

:kick: and probably just the first of many

8. Normally a Planned Parenthood supporter

number one, I feel it is imperative to provide any and all possible means of support to Medical Students for Choice and for any physician who provides abortion services.

There is already a shortage of abortion providers in this country. How many more will be (understandably) reluctant to provide services after today's heinous murder? The number of providers will continue to decline if we don't back these heroes, and work to provide them with safer working conditions.

Edit: Recommend!

11. I donated to PP, because, like you, I am a supporter.
But I will give to Medical Students for Choice, too. That seems like such a fitting memorial to a physician who dedicated his life to helping women. Today's murder will have the opposite effect of what they intended. They created a martyr. People will rally around George Tiller's memory and be inspired by his courage and commitment.

18. I just threw away a request from PP a few days ago.
Not because I don't support them but because we can afford to donate at this time (used to be annual donors before he recession). But after what has happened maybe we will have to tighten our belts one more notch and find a way to give.

19. Maybe volunteer?
One of my local clinics was being picketed recently. A bunch of my friends were volunteering as escorts, walking patients through the line. I was "too busy" :( Maybe I need to rethink where my commitments lie.

21. There's a great organization in the Pacific NW
For those of us up here who want to donate locally, the Cedar River Clinics. I sent them $100 today in memory of Dr. Tiller. The nutbags have been trying to get them shut down for years, but they keep on doing what has to be done.
