Harry Truman spinning in his grave today
Bond to receive Truman award

U.S. Sen. Kit Bond will receive the Harry S. Truman Public Service Award on May 7 in Independence.

The award, chosen by a city commission, is given every year to a public servant who typifies the “ability, honest and integrity” represented by Truman.

Past recipients include former presidents Bill Clinton, Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter; former senators Bill Bradley and Sam Nunn, and former secretary of state Madeleine Albright.

The Missouri Republican will receive the award in a ceremony on the front steps of the Truman Library.

1. What the FUCK are they thinking?
Did Stupid manage to load their board with fundie Republicans?

I'm having the same sense of total dislocation I had with the Nobel committees in the 70s when both Kissinger and Milton Friedman won prizes.

3. And Liz Cheney, Moron Palin, and Fred Thompson are coming
to an event in Independence, MO--home of ole Harry. Yup, Harry is spinning (and likely spitting) in his grave. Sorry, guy. You don't deserve this (but then, neither do WE)

5. Interesting
Doesn't Bond regularly make the list of most corrupt public servants? He went bankrupt and then refilled his coffers with a sweetheart railroad deal. He's as crooked as they come.
