The Presidency is too powerful
Has there ever been a time in our history when the Presidency was as powerful as it is today?

We should have impeached Bush and Cheney when we had the chance. Pelosi taking impeachment off the table set a dangerous precedent, no matter who is in office.

No one should be trusted with this much power.

1. The Presidency is powerful
Only because Congress is so weak...

4. Congress ceded their responsibilities out of general idleness
We need a reboot bad. The government is pretty broken.

5. A series of strong presidencies and weak
congresses coupled with the fact that no president wants to give up what a previous administration has claimed for it's own.

And you end up with the current case.

Q3JR4.

6. Define powerful.
What is it about current executive powers that are greater than, say, under Andrew Jackson? What are we talking about here, line-item vetoes? What?
