Lecture series author lineup set

Ten authors will discuss their work, answer questions and sign books after their lectures during the 20th season of the Drue Heinz Lectures. The series opens Sept. 20.

Appearing in Oakland's Carnegie Music Hall will be U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen Breyer, Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels, and Norris Church Mailer, whose memoir, "A Ticket to the Circus," is about her marriage to the late Norman Mailer.

Here are the dates, authors and titles of their work:

Sept. 20: Annie Barrows, "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society."

Oct. 4: Mary Karr, "Lit," "Cherry," and "The Liars' Club."

Oct. 18: Associate Justice Stephen Breyer, "Through the Eyes of a Judge."

Nov. 1: Madhur Jaffrey, "At Home with Madhur Jaffrey: Simple, Delectable Dishes from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka."

Nov. 15: Andrew Ross Sorkin, "Too Big to Fail."

Dec. 6: Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels.

Feb. 7: 2011: Sapphire, "PUSH," the book that inspired the Academy Award-winning film "Precious."

Feb. 21: Tracy Kidder, "Strength in What Remains."

March 21: Yann Martel, "Life of Pi."

April 4: Norris Church Mailer, "A Ticket to the Circus."
