Grassley numbers falling like a rock in Iowa!!!!
Boy-oh-boy is that great news or what. Maybe this boy's dream can come true and I can live out my final years without that schmuck as my senator.
http://www.bleedingheartland.com/showDiary.do;jsessionid=4030741C6ACFF27AD7D73582B5FCEE22?diaryId=3851

"New polling by Research 2000 finds that Republican Chuck Grassley is far more vulnerable than the conventional wisdom gives him (dis)credit for.

When asked if Grassley should be re-elected, only 42% said re-elect, while 31% said it was time for someone new, and 27% were not sure. (Remember, being unsure about an incumbent of twenty-nine years bodes poorly for the incumbent.) Among independents, only 39% said re-elect. Not too hot."

Oh Boy!

Help one of these folks send Chuck back to the farm!

5. IMO we need term limits and public financing... Also need to stop the
benefits forever because someone held a job once in congress.

6. it is hard to believe how Iowans fall all over his cornpone bullshit.
Most actually think he is just like them. No, he is a really slick Washington politician who demands and gets huge "campaign contributions" from all sorts of industries that he holds sway on.

7. Last time he was up for re-election
There was only token opposition to him (with due respect to Art Small) and Grassley had it sewn up early. But get this. He ran ads saying that "he was just like us because he mows his own lawn".
He just doesn't care to use a John Deere mower due to the fact that they are a Union company and JD is one of the largest employers in the state. Yeah, he may be in trouble this time.

19. I remember pics of Grass man on a rider with two push mowers tied
to the rider. I guess this was to show how smart Chuckles was. He came up with a way to cut his grass faster.
Anybody here believe Chuckles actually cuts one blade of grass?

13. Yes...
The Republican turnout is likely to be motivated given the tea party crap and the fact they will be resorting to nominating a past governor. That's going to unfortunately help Grassley.

15. I don't mean to be a downer, but the Democrats have never seemed serious about challenging Grassley
The candidates you've linked to all look second tier at best. Why were there never any sitting congressmen or statewide elected officials even considering this race?

20. I could only speculate. A year ago, Grassley looked unbeatable
Remember that when Scott Brown was given the nomination in Mass. no one, no one knew who he was. And he wasn't even a 2nd tier candidate.
