Another villian in this mine disaster is this guy .....


He was a useful idiot to the big monied interests. He allowed the federal oversight laws relating to mine safety to be weakened during his residency.

As you watch that heartbreaking procession of ambulances making its way down that hill to the mouth of the mine, keep Idiot Son in mind. It is just more blood on his worthless hands.

7. A bitter harvest still bearing fruit
Bush and Cheney built on a series of trends begun by Reagan (although some will cite some of the deregulation beginning in the Carter administration) and continued by George H.W. Bush and to an extent by Bill Clinton. Our safety regulations have not been as robust as they should be. Nor have we made much of a move to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels.
