Did the Massey Miners break the Union?
Edited on Wed Apr-07-10 12:19 AM by itsrobert
Looks like the Union was driven out of the Massey operations. Did the miners cross a picket line to take jobs from striking union members?

"He worried such a tragedy will happen again because, he alleged, non-union miners are punished when they complain about poor working conditions."

most of Blankenship's union-busting took place in the 80s and Massey's ruled a de-unionized southern W.Va with an iron fist ever since.
Based on their ages, I'm guessing most of these guys came along when there was nothing else left.
