In case you've missed it, Pakistan's air force is bombing the crap out of the FATA.
Major air strikes in the mountains bordering Afghanistan:

...Depending on the source, they're either all innocents or all Lashkar-e-Islam. If DU is curious what "indiscriminate bombing" actually looks like, this is it. :(

5. Bombing the LI prison
seems like a good way to kill prisoners who are your own supporters, or at least who would have been inclined to oppose the LI.

I guess that was another greatly exaggerated report.

Don't forget that Pakistan itself is an ethnic hodgepodge, with more than 60 languages, including four non-national languages spoken by more than 10% of the population. A Yugoslavia-style breakup is not out of the question.
